Scholarship Deadline: November 30th, 2024 ($2000)

To be eligible for the Common App Scholarship a student must:

A) Be in Grade 11 or Grade 12

B) Be attending college or university no later than October 1, 2025.

C) Have achieved a GPA of 2.5 or greater during their last academic year.

D) Answer ONE of the essay prompts found below.

Choose one topic below and write an essay that is under 700 Words

Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?
Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

Scholarship Winner

The winner of the February 29th, 2024 “Common App Scholarship” is Chloe Lin from Princeton, New Jersey. Chloe will graduate from Princeton High School in Princeton, NJ in June 2024 and major in chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)'s Mellon College of Science in August 2024.

Message from Recipient:

“I am honored to have been chosen as the Common App Scholarship Winner! With tuition as expensive as it is, this generous scholarship will ease some of that financial burden off of my shoulders and help cover my tuition and textbook expenses."

Another winner of the February 29th, 2024 “Common App Scholarship” is Ben Ryan from Princeton, New Jersey. Ben will graduate from Lafayette Jr/Sr High School. After high school, he plans to attend Juniata College to study business.

Message from Recipient:

“Thank you for awarding me the Common App scholarship. I plan to use the money in order to pay a portion of my college tuition. I am beyond excited to attend college and I cannot wait to get on campus. I am planning on studying business at Juniata College and hope to join their 3+1 masters program.
