AFA Teens Awareness College Scholarship

The Alzheimer's Foundation of America (AFA) offers a unique opportunity for college-bound high school seniors who have been personally affected by Alzheimer's disease through their Teen Alzheimer's Awareness Scholarship. This program aims to provide financial assistance for their educational journey.
As part of the application process, students are required to either pen an essay of no more than 1,500 words or create a video of up to 4 minutes in length. The content should focus on the personal impact of Alzheimer's disease or another dementia-related illness on the applicant, their family, or their community. It should also reflect on the lessons learned from this experience.
The scholarship program is quite generous, with the grand prize winner receiving a $5,000 scholarship. Additional prizes are also awarded to runners-up. Since the inception of this program, over $350,000 in college scholarships have been distributed.

Eligibility Criteria for AFA’s Alzheimer's Awareness Scholarship:
- The applicant must be a high school senior.
- The applicant must be enrolled in a U.S. college or university for the fall semester following their high school graduation.
- The applicant must be a resident of the United States.
- The applicant must hold U.S. citizenship.
- The essay or video submission must be received no later than 5:00 pm ET on March 1, 2023.
