Carole Moody Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Saint Louis Attractions Association
Since 1991, the Saint Louis Attractions Association has been dedicated to fostering the growth of future leaders in the tourism and hospitality industry through the provision of scholarships to deserving students. The Carole Moody Scholarship, named in honor of founding member Carole Moody, is a testament to her nearly three decades of invaluable contributions to the industry. We are privileged to perpetuate Carole's legacy and spirit through this scholarship program. Donations to the scholarship fund can be made by clicking here.
The Carole Moody Scholarship is available to high school seniors who are about to embark on their college journey, as well as current undergraduate college students. The applicants must be majoring in a field that has the potential to enhance the tourism and hospitality industry, and must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or a B average. Furthermore, the applicant must fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Employment within the industry for a SLAA member
- Completion of an internship with a SLAA member
- Current membership of SLAA (student memberships are available)
- Family relation to a SLAA member
- Membership in a hospitality organization
Each year, one or more students are selected to receive a scholarship of at least $1,000. Additionally, one or more students may be recognized with an Honorable Mention Award, which carries a monetary value of $500.
