Background of the Award

The Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow award is named in honor of Chuck Hall, who dedicated the majority of his adult life to supporting young people through his involvement with junior bowling. Hall joined the American Junior Bowling Congress (AJBC) in 1959 as a field representative, and his dedication and commitment saw him rise to the position of director of field services in 1961, and then executive director in 1962, overseeing the organization's daily operations.

In 1982, the AJBC merged with the Youth Bowling Association to form the Young American Bowling Alliance (YABA), with Hall serving as YABA's executive director until his retirement in 1985. Throughout his tenure with AJBC and YABA, Hall seized numerous opportunities to promote youth bowling and played a significant role in the formation and development of the Youth Leaders program.

The American Bowling Congress initiated its male Star of Tomorrow scholarship competition in 1980, and in honor of Hall's contributions, the award was named the Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow.
