ASHRAE High School Senior Scholarships

Scholarship Sponsored by American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers

Value: $3,000.00
Awards Available: 4
Deadline : May 01, 2026

Quick overview (read carefully)
- Four one-year scholarships are awarded, each worth $3,000.
- They are awarded for the academic year following the application deadline and begin with the fall semester.
- These awards are for high school seniors about to enroll full time in their first year of a bachelor’s program that traditionally prepares students for the HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) profession.

Who is eligible
- You must be a high school senior who will be entering a full-time, first-year bachelor’s program in pre-engineering, engineering, or engineering technology that is considered preparatory for HVAC&R.
- Academic requirement: a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale OR class standing in the top 30% (meeting either one is acceptable).
- Your chosen post‑secondary program or institution must meet at least one of the following:
- The institution hosts a recognized ASHRAE student branch.
- The program is accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) or by PAHRA (Partnership for Air‑Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation).
- The program is accredited by an agency outside the U.S. that is a signatory of the Washington Accord or the Sydney Accord.
- The program is accredited by an agency that has a signed Memorandum of Understanding with ABET.

Required application materials (must be received by the deadline)
1. Official transcript of grades — must be mailed, sent through an authorized electronic transcript service, or sent directly by your registrar’s office. Photocopies will not be accepted.
2. Letter of admission from the post‑secondary institution you plan to attend.
3. Three signed letters of recommendation:
- One from an instructor or school advisor,
- One from a current or past employer,
- One from another character reference (not a family member).

A few practical tips
- Start requesting transcripts and recommendation letters early — some offices and recommenders take time.
- Double-check that the program you’re entering meets at least one of the accreditation or student-branch criteria before applying.
- Make sure all documents arrive on or before the application deadline; late materials are not considered.

If you want, I can help you organize a checklist or draft an email to request transcripts or recommendation letters.
