What this is
- An annual college scholarship opportunity for eligible children of ALPA pilots. It’s designed for students preparing to begin college, but currently enrolled college students who meet the eligibility rules may apply as well.
- Applicants must be entering or enrolled in a program that leads toward a bachelor’s degree.
Who can apply
- Children of ALPA pilot members who are medically retired, long-term disabled, or deceased.
- Freshmen-to-be and current college students are both eligible, provided their program is creditable toward a bachelor’s degree.
Available awards
- One four-year undergraduate scholarship: $60,000 total, paid as $15,000 per year for four consecutive years. Continued payments require maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
- One single-year undergraduate scholarship: $10,000.
Important requirements & deadlines
- Complete the online application (Parts 1, 2, and 3).
- The application must be received by April 1.
- Recipients are selected by the ALPA Vice President–Administration/Secretary and the Vice President–Finance/Treasurer, with decisions made by July 31 each year.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA to continue receiving multi-year funds.
