The two main scholarships
1) Design Thinking Scholarship
- Award: $1,000.

- Purpose: To encourage the use of design thinking across disciplines and careers.
- Deadline and timing: Deadline is July 31. The scholarship is awarded on an annual cycle; submissions are considered for the next available award.
- How to apply: Submit an online essay of 500–1,500 words describing how design thinking or digital design tools will affect you and your career choice. The essay title must reflect that focus.
2) AGI Training Scholarship
- Award: $500.
- Who can apply: Students enrolled in (or scheduled to be enrolled in) AGI Certificate programs at the time of application.
- Purpose: To support learning of digital design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and how those skills will advance your career.
- How to apply: Submit an online essay of 500–1,500 words about how digital design tools will contribute to your career. You may choose your own essay title; it must reflect how one or more digital design tools will contribute to your career.
How to submit
- All scholarship entries are submitted online through the American Graphics Institute scholarship page. Follow the application form and upload your essay as directed.
General eligibility and rules (read these closely)
- For the Design Thinking Scholarship, you must be enrolled in an accredited two‑ or four‑year degree program in the United States at the time you apply.
- Only one scholarship application per person is allowed during each scholarship period.
- Applicants must be U.S. legal residents or hold a valid student visa.
- A completed scholarship application form is required for entry.
- The scholarship is void where prohibited by law.
- Winners are decided exclusively by the American Graphics Institute scholarship committee.
