The University of Alabama has some of the most generous scholarship money available to qualifying Alabama students. If you want to give yourself the best chance of receiving aid, follow these three straightforward steps — and start early.
1) Apply for admission and scholarships
- Use the UA Undergraduate Application (in‑state students can apply for free). If you plan to enroll in summer or fall 2026, make sure your application and all supporting documents are submitted by the December 5 priority date.
2) Fill out additional scholarship applications in ASAM
- Log into the Alabama Scholarship Award Manager (ASAM) and complete any extra scholarship forms required there. Many scholarships are awarded through that system, so don’t skip it.
3) Complete the FAFSA
- Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid so the university can consider you for federal, state, and institutional aid.
Tip: keep a checklist of documents (transcripts, test scores, etc.) and set personal deadlines a week or two before official cutoffs so nothing is late.
