The North Valley Community Foundation believes people are fundamentally good and that each person can make a meaningful, positive contribution to the world. In that spirit, we offer a scholarship that honors a life lived with purpose and determination.

- Purpose: To support graduating, college-bound seniors who demonstrate the spirit, determination, and goal-oriented approach that characterized Cindy Kennedy’s life.
About Cynthia Ann Kennedy
Cindy was a woman who pursued her goals with energy and persistence. Her accomplishments include traveling to more than 30 countries, graduating summa cum laude from California State University, Chico with a degree in Multi-Cultural and Gender Studies, founding Namaste House Children’s Home in Pokhara, Nepal, and helping her son, Levi Stanton (Chico High Class of 2011), earn a full scholarship to Princeton. Cindy was also a devoted friend—ready with advice, a listening ear, or a helping hand. This scholarship is funded by those who loved and supported Cindy and who continue to support her family.

What you must submit
- High school transcripts
Selection and award
- The scholarship is intended for students who reflect Cindy’s goal-driven, determined approach to life.
- Recipients will be announced at each school’s Scholarship & Awards ceremony.
