A college education scholarship is available for tuition at a school of the student's choice. The high school senior from the Cumberland Anita Massena School District must be accepted as a student by the institution of higher education.

Two scholarships of approximately $500 each.

Who may apply?

Graduating High School Seniors who attend the Cumberland Anita Massena school district may apply. Only students who are enrolled in a two- or four-year degreed or certified program may apply. Graduates of these programs receive certificates, diplomas, or Associate in Applied Science degrees. The criterion for a McCurdy Scholar gives preference to a student with a successful high school academic career along with demonstrated extra-curricular school activities and/or community service volunteerism.

How do I apply?

Applicants must complete a Dustin McCurdy Endowed Memorial Scholarshipapplication form and submit it to their Guidance Counselor, along with a copy of their current transcripts. Applications are available from your Guidance Counselor or online at www.swiowafoundations.org.

What is the Deadline?

Annually completed scholarship materials must be submitted to your Guidance Counselor no later than March 31st.

Who selects the scholarship recipients?

A designated Scholarship Selection Committee appointed by the Cass County Community Foundation Advisory Board will select the recipients at an April meeting.

How is the scholarship recipient notified?

The High School Guidance Counselor office will notify the recipient of their selection and school traditions of public announcements are observed. A packet of materials for the recipient is provided to the High School Guidance Counselor office. The scholarship is paid to the student's account at the educational institution the student elected.

What are my responsibilities as a McCurdy Scholar?

The student must maintain a C or better grade point, or the equivalent. A transcript must be provided to the Cass County Community Foundation, 3555 Farnam Street, Suite 222, Omaha, NE 68131.
