Lawrence E. and Mabel Jackson Rudberg Scholarship

If you’re a graduating senior planning to go to college, take a close look at the Lawrence E. and Mabel Jackson Rudberg Scholarship. It was established by two educators — Lawrence Rudberg, a professor of economics, and Mabel Rudberg, an elementary school teacher — who believed strongly in the power of higher education and wanted to help students afford it.
Who this fund serves
- Preferred: Graduating seniors from Two Harbors Senior High School.
- Also eligible: Graduating seniors from Duluth Denfeld, Duluth East, Marshall School, Harbor City International School, and Lakeview Christian Academy.
- Basic requirements: Demonstrated financial need, a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and evidence of strong academic performance.
What the award looks like
- Up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to four years (maximum total of $20,000).

- Submit your application through the Universal Application. (Be prepared to provide a transcript and documentation of financial need — for example, FAFSA information or other financial records — plus any materials that show your academic strengths.)
