Thanks to the generosity of our donors — people who care deeply about the future of young people in Washtenaw County — AAACF awarded more than $650,000 in 2025 across 26 scholarship funds. These awards support local students as they continue their post‑secondary education at schools across the country.

The important thing to know up front
- You only need to complete one application to be considered for all scholarships for which you may be eligible.
- A brief list of the scholarships that use the Common Scholarship Application follows; specific eligibility rules are in the separate eligibility-details document. Eligibility for each scholarship is determined during the first portion of the application.

How to use this list
- Read the eligibility-details document first to see which scholarships you might qualify for.
- Complete the Common Scholarship Application — it screens you for the scholarships you qualify for.

Scholarships (name + who they’re for)
School- or district-specific
- Bruce & Merlee Bartman Memorial Fund — graduating seniors at Community High School.
- Josee L. Alvarez Memorial Fund — graduating seniors at Chelsea High School.
- Cathy Allor Mathematics Scholarship Fund — graduating female seniors at Adrian High School with an interest in mathematics.
- Morse B. Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund — Washtenaw County residents attending Washtenaw Community College OR any Ann Arbor Public Schools graduating senior planning to attend Washtenaw Community College.
- Nathan Lyndell Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund — graduating seniors at Pioneer OR Community, or alumni of Ypsilanti Junior Football and Cheerleading (YCJAA).
- Andrew J. Lum Scholar Athlete Award Fund — graduating seniors from the Huron High School varsity football team who show commitment to both athletics and academics.
- Burt Black Memorial Fund — students with disabilities at Huron High School, Washtenaw Community College, and University of Michigan.
- Butch Warren Memorial Scholarship Fund — graduating seniors at Pioneer High School; or any child of a former D&C employee attending a Michigan public university or college; or a student at a Michigan technical school full time.
- Richard Weldon Memorial Scholarship Fund — graduating seniors who lettered (athletics, theater, or music) at Pioneer High School and who worked for at least 12 consecutive months while in high school.
- Beth Moffat Memorial Scholarship Fund — graduating female student athletes at Hartland High School.
- Rachael Townsend Memorial Scholarship Fund — women majoring in a degree in the School of Kinesiology at the University of Michigan, OR senior female student athletes at Saline High School.

Field- or program-specific
- Ann Arbor Ad Club Scholarship Fund — Washtenaw County residents studying advertising, communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
- AWC Scholarship Fund for Women in Computing — female students studying technology and/or computing.
- Walter & Florence E. Aupperle Scholarship Fund — students studying German (major or minor) at the University of Michigan or Eastern Michigan University.
- Richard D. & Grace P. Leslie Scholarship Fund — Washtenaw Community College students studying retail or business.

Demographic, economic, or first-generation supports
- AAACF Community Scholarship Fund — graduating high school seniors or graduates within the last two years who have not enrolled in college and who are economically disadvantaged, youth of color, and/or first‑generation college students.
- Linda Grasselli Sprankle Scholarship Fund — African‑American, Latino/Hispanic, and/or students who will be the first in their family to attend college.
- Gamma Rho Boule Education Fund — graduating African‑American male high school seniors from public or private high schools in Washtenaw County.

Employment- or organization-linked
- NuStep Scholarship Fund — children, step‑children, and grandchildren of NuStep employees.
- Silver Maples Employee Educational Fund — full‑ or part‑time employees of Silver Maples of Chelsea.
- Silver Legacy Scholarship Fund — full‑ or part‑time students who have been employed as wait staff at Silver Maples of Chelsea for at least six months.
- Pipe Dream Fund — students attending the University of Michigan or Eastern Michigan University who are Polish nationals on a valid visa OR whose parents are from Poland.
- Josephine C. Otto Memorial Scholarship Fund — members of Dexter’s St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Need-based and returning-veteran support
- James K. Stringwell Scholarship Fund — need‑based scholarships for students graduating from public high schools in Washtenaw County who will attend a public college or university in Michigan.
- Welcome Home Scholarship Fund — men and women returning home from active duty deployment in Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom and honorably discharged within the last three years.
