Lyceum Scholars Program

The Lyceum Scholars Program, available to incoming freshmen at Clemson University, offers a unique opportunity to delve into the seminal works of western political thought. This program encourages scholars to grapple with fundamental questions such as the nature of justice and the essence of living in a free society.
One of the most distinctive features of the Lyceum Scholars Program is the mentorship it provides. Scholars are privy to moral, professional, and intellectual guidance through bi-weekly Socratic Tutor Sessions conducted by the esteemed Lyceum Faculty.
Another key aspect of the program is the intellectual community it fosters. Scholars not only attend classes together as a cohort but also partake in Lyceum social events and reading groups. They are encouraged to attend public lectures and participate in the Lyceum Student Speaker Series, thereby enriching their academic experience.
Finally, the Lyceum Scholars Program also offers a Political Science Minor. By completing the eight-course curriculum, scholars can earn a certificate and fulfill the University's requirements for a minor in Political Science, specifically focusing on "Political and Legal Theory".
