Why Lyceum Scholars?
The Lyceum Scholars Program is open to incoming freshmen at Clemson University. Scholars study the original works of western political thought and engage with foundational questions such as the nature of justice and what it means to live in a free society.
- Mentorship Most unique to the Lyceum Scholars Program is the moral, professional, and intellectual mentorship it provides through bi-weekly Socratic Tutor Sessions with Lyceum Faculty.
- Intellectual Community Scholars take classes together as a cohort, enjoy Lyceum social events and reading groups, attend public lectures, and participate in the Lyceum Student Speaker Series.
- Political Science Minor Scholars complete the eight-course curriculum, earn a certificate, and fulfill the University's requirements for a minor in Political Science ("Political and Legal Theory")
