The Linda Craig Memorial Scholarship was created to honor Linda Lorraine Sharvelle Craig. It was established by former Indiana Pacers athletic trainer and team administrator David Craig together with Dr. John Abrams, and is supported by friends and community members who want to keep Linda’s legacy alive. Each year three scholarships of $2,500 are awarded.
Who the scholarship supports
- Awards may be used at an accredited four‑year Indiana college or university, or at a two‑year junior or community college.
- Three recipients are chosen annually; each receives $2,500.
How to apply
Please complete the official application and submit all required materials together. Required items:
- The general application questions (completed).
- A detailed personal statement — explain your goals, how this scholarship will help, and anything about your background that’s relevant.
- A current college transcript (unofficial is usually acceptable unless the application specifies otherwise).
- A letter of recommendation from a professor in your major.
If you are selected
- You must provide the Pacers Foundation with your student ID number and the address and phone number for your school’s Bursar (or student accounts) office.
- Scholarship funds are paid directly to the chosen college or university and will be applied to your tuition bill; funds are not paid directly to the student.
- Award checks are mailed in August.

- Start early: request your recommendation and transcript well before the deadline.
- Proofread your personal statement and have someone else read it for clarity and tone.
- Keep a copy of everything you submit and note any submission confirmations.
