United States JCI Senate Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by U.S. JCI Senate Foundation
Overview
This scholarship program is administered by the United States JCI Senate Foundation to help graduating high school seniors pay for the first year of post‑secondary education. Awards are paid directly to the chosen institution and must be used for tuition/educational expenses during the first year of full‑time study immediately following high school graduation.
Award amounts and 2026 note
- $1,500 or $2,000 scholarships for students who will attend an accredited post‑secondary college or university in the United States.
- $1,000 scholarships for students who will attend an accredited vocational, technical, or trade school program.
- The Foundation generally determines how many grants are awarded each year. For the 2026 graduating class, the Foundation plans to award fifty (50) college/university grants.
Who is eligible
- Graduating high school seniors who live in a U.S. state that has an active JCI Senate program and a scholarship chairperson. Check the list of participating states at www.usjcisenate.org (Scholarship tab). If your state is not listed, you are not eligible.
- Minimum GPA: 3.75 (students below 3.75 will not be considered).
- U.S. citizens only.
What the award looks like
- Checks are made out in the recipient’s name and paid directly to the college, university, or school the recipient selects. Funds must be used in the first year of full‑time study after graduation.
Application instructions — read carefully and follow exactly
1. Type the application. Preference is for a Microsoft Word–compatible document, but no electronic submissions are accepted — type the application, print it in black ink, and submit the printed packet. Use single‑sided sheets.
2. Page numbering and organization:
- Hand‑print your name and the page number in ink at the top right corner of every page.
- Start with the checklist as page 1, the photo page as page 2, then continue numbering the rest of the application and any attachments in order.
- If reference letters or transcripts are provided in sealed envelopes, number the envelopes to indicate where they belong in the packet; the chairman will insert them.
- Staple all pages together in the upper left corner.
3. Include an active, working e‑mail address on your application.
4. Submit all materials in one mailing — do not send separate packages.
5. Avoid unexplained acronyms. Committees evaluating your application may be outside your area; spell out program names and give a short descriptive phrase if the title isn’t self‑explanatory (for example: “Oak City REACH — community program to feed the homeless,” or “J. Smith Award — Top Female Tennis Player”).
6. No electronic submissions will be accepted. Your application must be postmarked and mailed by January 12, 2026.
Final notes
- Follow the instructions exactly — applications that are not formatted or submitted as requested risk disqualification.
- If you have questions about your state’s participation or the local scholarship chairperson, consult the scholarship tab at www.usjcisenate.org.
