AGC Workforce Development Scholarships

If you’re planning to study a trade or pursue a career in construction, here’s a clear summary of the scholarship opportunities and important dates you should know — written like I’d explain it to my students.
Quick overview
- Workforce Development Scholarship (for students in craft and technical programs)
- Origin: In 2015, the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), through its Build Your Future initiative, provided seed funding to start the Workforce Development scholarships. That first round supported 19 students.
- Award: $1,000 per year, renewable for up to two years.
- Next application window: Opens March 1, 2026.
- AGC Education & Research Foundation Scholarships (for undergraduate and graduate students in construction-related fields)
- Application platform for the 2026–2027 academic year opens July 1, 2026.
- Awards:
- Undergraduate: $2,500 per year, renewable for up to three years.
- Graduate: $3,750 per year, renewable for up to two years.
