Hawaii High School Hall of Honor
Scholarship Sponsored by Hawaii High School Athletic Association
The Hawai‘i High School Hall of Honor recognizes outstanding high school athletes across the state. Established in 1982, the program honors athletic excellence and leadership while supporting college goals: each year an independent committee selects 12 senior student‑athletes for induction, and each honoree receives a $2,000 Enterprise Rent‑A‑Car college scholarship to help with tuition, books, or room and board.
Who is eligible
- Hawai‘i seniors who participate in any official HHSAA state‑championship sport.
What the selection committee looks for
- Athletic achievement is the primary consideration. The committee also values:
- Versatility
- Sportsmanship
- Leadership and dedication
- Academic achievement
- School activities and community involvement
- Character and behavior on and off the field
How to nominate a student
- Use the official HHSAA Hall of Honor nomination form (fillable PDF). Only this format will be accepted.
- You do not need the athletics director’s or principal’s hand signatures on the form; instead, submitted applications will be forwarded to athletic directors for verification.
- Supporting materials may include media clippings, personal statements, letters of reference, or transcripts. Limit: six one‑sided 8.5" x 11" pages. Any material beyond six pages will not be considered.
- Two photographs are required:
- Senior portrait (head‑and‑shoulders)
- Action photograph
- Acceptable file formats: JPG, PNG, or PDF
- All materials must be submitted via email to hoh@hhsaa.org.
Important dates
- Nomination deadline: Monday, May 12, 2025 — completed forms and all materials must be emailed by this date.
- Selection committee meeting: Saturday, May 17, 2025.
- Honorees announced: Sunday, May 18, 2025.
- Awards banquet (attendance required for honorees): Sunday evening, June 1, 2025, at the Princess Kaiulani Ballroom.
