Since 1992 the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation has awarded 110 scholarships to students pursuing education in agriculture-related fields. If you’re a high school senior planning to continue your education in agriculture, trades, or Career Technical Education (CTE), read on — this could be for you.

Scholarship amounts and purpose
- Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship(s): $1,500 each. Number awarded depends on qualified applicants and available funds.
- Dave Gorman Memorial Scholarship: one $1,500 award in memory of the late David Gorman, former member of the Lee County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.
- Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship: one $1,500 award for a student pursuing an agriculture major or an ag-related career. Established by the Gentry family to support future leaders in agriculture. (Requires at least two years of 4‑H or FFA experience.)
- Carol & Ted Schoch Memorial Scholarship(s): awards ranging from $1,000 to $2,000, with amounts determined by the number of qualified candidates. Created to support students continuing their education beyond high school.
- Sylvan & Virginia Leffelman “Leave a Legacy” Scholarship: one $1,000 award honoring long-time members Sylvan and Virginia Leffelman for their community service and legacy of giving.

Who is eligible
To be considered you must:
- Be a high school senior.
- Be a Lee County Farm Bureau member in good standing, or the dependent of such a member (as defined in the Lee County Farm Bureau bylaws).
- Plan to enroll at a post-secondary school in a field leading to a career connected to agriculture, OR be pursuing a trade, technical, or certified education course within the Career Technical Education pathway.
- Show potential to successfully complete your chosen course of study.

Selection criteria
Applications are evaluated on:
- Academic achievement
- Demonstrated interest in the agriculture industry
- A clear, realistic plan and goals for completing your education

Special requirement for the Gentry Family Agriculture Scholarship
- Minimum two years of participation in 4‑H or FFA.

Terms you should know
- Scholarship funds are paid directly to the student after the Foundation receives final grades for the semester that follows scholarship notification.
- High school senior recipients must submit their grades by January 15.
- By applying, you consent to the release of your name and photo for media and announcement purposes.

Deadline
- Complete and submit your application by February 15 at 11:59 p.m.
