Here’s a clearer, teacher-friendly version of the announcement: Overview Five scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded this year in memory of Frank Genovese. The awards are intended to help students pursue education in agriculture-related fields. Who is eligible - Must be a graduating high school senior or a post‑secondary student (college, university, or trade school). - Must be enrolling in or currently enrolled in a program related to agriculture, natural resources, or veterinary studies. - Must have an Oakland County Farm Bureau membership through a parent or guardian. If the applicant is over 21 years old, the applicant must hold their own Oakland County Farm Bureau membership. - Applicants are not required to live in Oakland County, but an Oakland County Farm Bureau membership is required. How winners are chosen and notified - Five recipients will be selected and announced at the Oakland County Fair. - Winners will be asked to appear at the fair to receive the scholarship. Payment and conditions - Scholarship funds ($1,000) will be released after the winner provides proof of enrollment in an agricultural-related college or trade program. If you’re planning to apply, make sure you have documentation of your or your family’s Oakland County Farm Bureau membership and be prepared to show enrollment paperwork after selection. Good luck!
