This scholarship honors Berta “Bert” Lee White, former chair of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation State Women’s Leadership Committee. It supports women who are pursuing agriculture-related degrees at Mississippi universities or community colleges. Applicants must be Farm Bureau members.

Eligibility (check each item)
- Applicant is a woman.
- Applicant is a current Mississippi Farm Bureau member, or a member of a Mississippi Farm Bureau family, with membership in place at least 60 days before applying.
- Applicant has completed at least one full year of college coursework.
- Applicant is enrolled in, or will enroll in, an agriculture-related area of study at a Mississippi university or community college.
How the award is paid
- Each $3,000 scholarship is paid in two equal installments across the two semesters of the academic year immediately following the award.
- Payments are made directly to the student’s university or community college in the student’s name once the school confirms enrollment in an agriculture-related course of study.
- If a student withdraws from school, the scholarship terminates.
Requirements to receive the second installment
- The student must still be enrolled in an agriculture-related course of study.
- The student must have earned at least a 2.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) during the first semester.
- A letter from the college or university confirming both continued enrollment in an agricultural program and the 2.5 GPA is required.
Forfeiture and alternates
- If the recipient forfeits the second-semester funds, that money will return to the Berta Lee White Scholarship Fund.
- If the selected recipient fails to enroll in an agricultural-related program at the start of the fall semester, the scholarship will be awarded to an alternate chosen from the original selection pool.

- Email a completed application and all required supporting materials by June 1. (Follow the application instructions exactly and confirm your Farm Bureau membership meets the 60-day requirement.)
