Overview
The New York State Horse Council (NYSHC) offers two $1,000 awards each year to support members pursuing horse-related education or professional certification.
The awards
- Youth Scholarship — $1,000 for NYSHC members who are 16–24 years old during the calendar year.
- Adult Educational Grant — $1,000 for NYSHC members age 25 and older.
Who is eligible
- Must be a current NYSHC member (individual, family, or student membership).
- Must be enrolled in a collegiate horse-related program or a recognized professional certification program (for example: Parelli, John Lyons, farrier certification, etc.).
Important dates and process
- Application deadline: May 15 of the current year.
- Applications are reviewed by the NYSHC Scholarship Committee.
- Recipients will be notified by June 1.
