Important dates
- Applications open: December 1
- Application deadline: check the scholarship webpage for the exact closing date (some notices list January 31 while others list February 2). To be safe, submit well before the earlier date.
About the Blue Ribbon Scholarship Program
- The Blue Ribbon Scholarship exists because of generous donors to the Washington State Fair Foundation.
- Since 1991 the program has awarded more than $2.5 million, helping provide a “fair chance” at higher education for students of many backgrounds.
Who benefits
- Scholarships support graduating high school seniors and adult learners.
- Foundation gifts also keep community programs running — for example, the Traveling Farm — and fund new projects such as Piglet Palace, Classic Coaster Park, The Farm at SillyVille, and The History Experience.
How to apply
- There is a single online application for all available scholarships. Submit one application and the system will automatically match you to the scholarships for which you qualify.
- Check each scholarship listing online for specific eligibility requirements and details.
Before you start
- Gather the materials you’ll need (transcripts, letters, essays, etc.) so you don’t have to rush at the last minute.
- Apply early to avoid technical problems and to ensure your application is received before the deadline.
