Here at the May Firm, we deeply value the significance of education and recognize the financial challenges that often accompany the pursuit of higher learning. Our founding attorney, Robert May, was the first in his family to attend college, earning his undergraduate degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before proceeding to law school. He is profoundly grateful for the educational opportunities he received and is acutely aware of the escalating costs of higher education, which can place students under considerable mental and financial strain.
Our mission is to support students in their quest for higher education by alleviating some of the financial pressures they face. To this end, we are proud to offer a bi-annual scholarship of $1,000 to a student enrolled at either a community college or university.
The application deadlines for this scholarship are September 15 and January 5 of each year. We will announce the winners on September 20 and January 20, respectively, on our Facebook page.
As part of the application process, we invite you to share a personal narrative. Specifically, we would like you to write an essay of 300 words or more about a traumatic experience you have encountered in your life and how you overcame it.
Please attach your essay to a copy of your resume, which should include your current GPA and the name of the university or community college you are attending. We look forward to reading your submissions and supporting your educational journey.
