Mensa US Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by Mensa

Value: $2,500.00
Awards Available: 178
Deadline : Jan 15, 2026

Quick overview
The Mensa Foundation awards more than $200,000 in scholarships every year to students around the world. If you’re considering applying, here’s what you need to know and how to prepare—organized the way a teacher would walk you through an assignment.

What the application requires
- A single essay, 550 words or fewer.
- Essay content: describe your academic and professional goals and explain how your personal experiences have prepared you to reach them. Be specific—concrete examples make your case stronger.
- Format: submit the essay in English as plain text (no bold, italics, links, special formatting, or markup).
- Originality: the essay must be your own work. At submission you’ll be asked to certify that fact.
- Anonymity: do not include your name, address, school, or any other identifying information anywhere in the essay.

Important dates (timeline)
- Opens: September 15, 2025
- Closes: January 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CST (which is January 16, 2026 at 05:59 a.m. GMT)
- Judging period: February – April 2026
- Winners announced: June 2026

If you are awarded a scholarship
You will need to provide proof that you intend to enroll in an accredited educational institution for the 2025–26 academic year (for example, an acceptance letter or official enrollment verification).

How to submit
- Complete the online application through the Mensa Foundation’s Award Spring scholarship portal.
- Fill in every required field accurately.
- Upload or paste your essay as instructed (plain-text only).
- Certify that the essay and other information are your original work.

A quick pre-submission checklist (teacher-approved)
- Word count checked: ≤ 550 words.
- Essay is in English and plain text (no formatting).
- No identifying information in the essay.
- All required application fields completed.
- Ready to certify originality and, if awarded, provide enrollment proof.

If you want, I can help you outline the essay or review a draft (without adding identifying information) before you submit. Good luck—treat this like a college application essay: clear goals, honest reflection, and concrete examples will make your application stand out.
