Mensa US Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Mensa
Quick overview The Mensa Foundation awards more than $200,000 in scholarships every year to students around the world. If you’re considering applying, here’s what you need to know and how to prepare—organized the way a teacher would walk you through an assignment.
What the application requires
- A single essay, 550 words or fewer.
- Essay content: describe your academic and professional goals and explain how your personal experiences have prepared you to reach them. Be specific—concrete examples make your case stronger.
- Format: submit the essay in English as plain text (no bold, italics, links, special formatting, or markup).
- Originality: the essay must be your own work. At submission you’ll be asked to certify that fact.
- Anonymity: do not include your name, address, school, or any other identifying information anywhere in the essay.
Important dates (timeline)

- Fill in every required field accurately.
