Key deadlines and where to apply
- General scholarship application window: March 6, 2026 through March 13, 2026, 11:59 p.m. PST. Applications received after that window cannot be considered.
- Note about the Bridge the Gap Clinical Licensure Grant: this particular grant operates on a different schedule (see details below) and is not limited to the March submission window.

Bridge the Gap Clinical Licensure Grant — overview
This grant supports individuals who have earned a master’s degree in a mental-health–related field and who plan to pursue clinical licensure in the state where they intend to practice. The Bridge the Gap Grant replaces the Foundation’s previous tuition-focused scholarship and is now focused on strengthening the mental health workforce by funding supervised clinical training, expanding access to care, and supporting systemic change.
What the award provides
- Fully funded virtual clinical supervision (through an approved supervision partner) to help you meet licensure requirements for one of these professional designations:
- Addiction Counselor, Advanced Masters-Level
- Marriage and Family Therapist
- Professional / Mental Health Counselor
- Clinical-Level Social Worker
How applications are reviewed
- Bridge the Gap applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
- A selection committee reviews submissions twice a year; awardees are notified by June 30 and December 30.
Materials required to apply
Please assemble the following before you submit:
- Master’s degree in a mental-health field that leads to clinical licensure in the state where you plan to practice
- Proof of employment in the United States, with primary job responsibilities that satisfy your state’s supervised clinical-practice requirements
- Academic transcript showing a minimum GPA of 3.80
- Clinical experience statement and professional goals statement
- Personal statement
- Two professional letters of recommendation
- Most recent W-2 form
Quick application tips (teacher to student)
- Gather transcripts and your W-2 early — these can take time to obtain.
- Ask recommenders well in advance and give them a deadline a few days before your own.
- Save documents as PDFs and check file sizes before uploading.
