Act Six Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Act Six
Act Six is an innovative leadership and scholarship initiative that fosters a symbiotic relationship between local faith-based community affiliates and colleges that uphold faith and social justice values. The primary objective of this program is to nurture and equip emerging leaders from urban and community backgrounds. These leaders are then expected to positively influence their college campuses and their home communities. This is achieved through a well-structured four-part strategy.
In order to streamline the application process for Act Six, we have collaborated with Common App. This partnership not only makes the application process for Act Six more efficient but also eliminates any application fee. Moreover, once you have completed your Common App, you have the option to apply to over 1,000 colleges nationwide.
For the academic year 2023-24, you can initiate your application by submitting an interest form and adding Act Six to your Common App.
Eligibility Criteria for Act Six Application:
1. A strong desire to utilize their college education to make a significant difference as a leader in their community and on campus.
2. High school graduation in 2024, or previous graduation in 2023 or 2022.
3. Not currently enrolled in a four-year college (students from two-year colleges are eligible to apply).
4. Residing in one of the four Act Six program sites.
5. Interest in attending at least one of the Act Six partner colleges in their program site.
While we do consider ethnicity and family income to ensure a diverse group of scholars, there are no income restrictions. We strongly encourage students from all racial and ethnic backgrounds to apply.
There is no minimum GPA requirement for Act Six. However, the admission standards vary across our partner colleges. Generally, applicants with a GPA below 3.0 are required to demonstrate their readiness for academic success in college through their recommendations, essays, and/or test scores.
