Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars Program

The Scholars Program of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation provides college scholarships to high school seniors in Ventura County, California who exhibit exceptional leadership qualities and character.
High school seniors in Ventura County who display leadership, character, communication skills, academic excellence, and dedication to their local community have the opportunity to receive a portion of up to $50,000 in annual college scholarships. Besides financial aid for college, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars become part of a community of 243 student leaders from 30 Ventura County high schools who have been awarded over $900,000 in scholarships since 2000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Exhibit exceptional leadership, character, communication skills, academic excellence, and dedication to Ventura County
- Show strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent)
- Be U.S. citizens
- Graduate from a Ventura County, California high school in the current academic year (home-schooled high school seniors in Ventura County, California are also eligible)
- Intend to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the U.S. for the entire upcoming academic year
QUALITIES OF A SCHOLAR
LEADERSHIP
Scholars exhibit inherent leadership abilities, vision, and ambition, and strive for influential and service-oriented roles. They utilize their influence to set a positive precedent for their peers and chart a path for progress in their school and community.
CHARACTER
Scholars are grounded in their principles, values, and ethics. They gain the respect of their peers, school administrators, and community leaders by displaying integrity, reliability, conviction, and strong personal character.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Scholars employ their communication skills to inspire others and bring about positive change in the community. Through clear and intentional communication strategies, Scholars articulate a clear vision for community improvement and motivate their peers to contribute to a larger cause.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
Scholars are motivated to excel academically. They regard a quality education as a tool for personal growth. Scholars choose the “hard” academic path and consistently strive for a high standard of achievement.
COMMITMENT TO VENTURA COUNTY
Scholars are exemplary representatives of Ventura County. They actively participate in their community and make significant contributions through selfless service. Scholars take pride in their County and are, in turn, recognized as community assets.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Basic details about you, your parent/guardian, your high school, and your college plans.
