Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation Scholarships

The pulp and paper industry needs energetic, bright people to help solve challenging business and technical problems and to provide innovative ideas for future success.
With the evolution of technology and the demand in eco-conscious products, processes and packaging, pulp and paper companies have a surplus of jobs and opportunities for technically trained engineers.
You could be one of them.
The University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation provides full or partial tuition scholarships to aspiring chemical, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering students at the University of Maine who are interested in pursuing careers in the booming paper industry.
Each year, we award more than 130 of these scholarships, supported by annual gifts from more than 60 companies in 50 states, as well as individual gifts from more than 300 alumni and friends.
Curriculum requirements
Over the course of study, recipients of a Pulp and Paper Foundation scholarship must demonstrate or have:
- Cumulative GPA ≥3.0
- Active interest in a career in pulp and paper or supplier industries by participating in:
- Chinn Management Seminars
- Student Organization membership
- Co-op job or internships after the sophomore year of study
- Additional details are available when scholarship is awarded.
