Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Alpha Kappa Psi Scholarship Fund
You can start the application now and save your progress, but don’t wait until the last minute — the deadline is March 1, 2026. Before you begin, do these things so the process is smooth and your application is as strong as possible.
Checklist (do these first)
- Read through every application question so you know what’s expected.
- Ask a parent to write a short statement summarizing the family’s financial need (clear, specific, and honest).
- Draft five short essays in advance (each up to 250 words). Proofread for grammar and spelling; have a teacher, counselor, or peer review them.
- Prepare four PDFs to upload (see details below). Make sure each file is legible and named clearly.
About the essays
- You will need to submit five essays (up to 250 words each). Preparing them ahead of time helps you write more clearly and avoid last-minute stress.
- Three sample prompts you’ll encounter:
1) Other than a relative, who has been an influential figure in your life?
2) What activities are you most looking forward to as a college student?
3) Describe three activities of which you are most proud — what each activity is, why you’re proud, and how you demonstrated leadership.
- Tip: Keep each answer focused and concrete. Use one or two specific examples and edit to stay within the word limit.
Four PDFs to have ready
1) Carlson School acceptance letter
2) FAFSA Submission Summary (or another document that demonstrates financial need)
3) High school transcript
4) Resume (single page strongly preferred)
File tips
- Use clear filenames (e.g., LastName_FirstName_Transcript.pdf).
- Check that PDFs open correctly and are not password-protected.
- Keep documents concise and easy to read.
