Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships

Overview
In 1998 John and Linda Lynch created the Lynch Family Legacy Scholarships to support high school student‑athletes pursuing college. The program awards tuition assistance to graduating seniors in the Tampa Bay and Denver areas and, to date, has provided $1.8 million in scholarship funds.
Who they’re for
- High school seniors who are varsity student‑athletes in the eligible regions (see regional details below).
- Applicants are assessed on academic performance, athletic accomplishments, community involvement, leadership and other personal qualities. Financial need is also taken into account.
- Every applicant must submit an essay and three letters of recommendation.
Tampa Bay scholarships
- Four scholarships of $2,500 each are awarded to seniors from Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.
- Selection factors: academics, athletics, community service, leadership, financial need, and intangible qualities.
- 2026 applications will be posted online in early November.
- Application deadline: March 14 at midnight EST.

- Four scholarships of $24,000 each are awarded to seniors from Denver and the greater Colorado area.
- Selection factors: the same criteria listed above.
