Overview Keches Law Group awards one $2,500 scholarship each year (non‑renewable). Applicants may receive only one Keches scholarship per calendar year. The managing partner, Sean C. Flaherty, will present the award as a check made payable to the recipient’s school—typically delivered in the summer before the term in which the funds will be used. Scholarship funds may be applied to tuition and fees, books, and supplies. Recipients must keep and submit receipts to comply with IRS rules. Who is eligible - U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. - You must have a family member who is or was a member of a union. - You must be accepted to, or currently enrolled in, an accredited college, university, graduate program, or trade school in the United States. - You should demonstrate good character and strong initiative. - Employees of Keches Law Group and their immediate family members are not eligible. - Any federal, state, or local taxes on the scholarship are the recipient’s responsibility. Application checklist (required) Submit all items below; incomplete applications will not be considered: - Completed application form. - A typed essay (300–500 words). - A brief personal statement explaining how this scholarship would help further your education. - Proof of acceptance or current enrollment (acceptance letter or enrollment verification). - If you are under 18, a parent/guardian signature. Selection process and important rules - A review committee will read every entry and vote for the recipient.
