ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarship

The ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarships are designed to provide financial support to predoctoral dental students who have shown exceptional academic prowess in the field of preventive dentistry.

Each year, twelve deserving predoctoral dental students are selected to receive the ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarships. The selected students are each awarded a scholarship amount of $2,500.

To be considered eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

1. The applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in an accredited predoctoral dental program in the United States or Canada, having completed at least one year of the program.
2. The applicant must demonstrate a strong interest in preventive dentistry through personal activities and achievements.
3. The applicant must have an excellent academic record.
4. The applicant must be nominated by the dean of his or her dental school or the dean’s designate (each school can nominate a maximum of three students).
5. The applicant must be an ADEA Individual Member.

The application process for the ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarships requires the submission of the following documents by September 15, 2025, via the ADEA online application process:

1. A letter from the dean detailing the applicant’s academic record, achievements, and activities (research, community service, and program development) in preventive dentistry that exceed the graduation requirements.
2. A summary of the insights the student has gained from achievements and activities (research, community service, and program development) in preventive dentistry.
3. A current curriculum vitae.
4. Transcripts obtained from the candidate’s school registrar verifying academic standing.
5. The application to this scholarship will use the information in your ADEA profile. Please ensure your profile is updated by visiting adea.org/myadea.

Please note that de-identified applicant information may be used to enhance scholarships at ADEA and could be published. Identified information (e.g., biographies) of successful winners will be published on the ADEA website, shared with your home institution, and may be used in ADEA promotional material.
