Deadline : Jun 30, 2026

The Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd. proudly continue a tradition of supporting students who give back. Each year we award the R.F. Wittmeyer Community Service Scholarship to recognize students whose community service makes a real difference—and to help those students continue their education and increase their impact.

What we’re offering

  • One $1,000 scholarship for a student who demonstrates a genuine commitment to community service.
  • Open to high school seniors, vocational students, college students, and graduate students who will be enrolled in a 2–4 year post‑secondary or vocational program in the upcoming semester and who meet the eligibility requirements.

Who may apply

  • Current high school seniors, vocational students, undergraduate students, or graduate students who are legal residents of the United States (residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia).
  • Applicants must be enrolled (or planning to enroll) in a vocational program or a 2–4 year post‑secondary institution for the upcoming semester.
  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 and in good overall academic standing.
  • The following are not eligible: employees of the Law Offices of R.F. Wittmeyer, Ltd., their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, spouse), and anyone living in the same household as those employees (related or not).

What we want to see (application requirements)

  • Complete the online application form in full.
  • A 750–1,000 word essay answering: “What community service activities have you been involved in, and why are you dedicated to your community? Please mention at least one organization you have worked with, are currently working with, or plan to work with in the future.” This is your chance to show motivation, leadership, and the real effects of your work.
  • All essays will be screened for AI writing. Any essay found to contain AI‑generated writing will be disqualified.
  • A professional résumé that lists academic and relevant professional or volunteer experience.
  • A transcript from your current school. First‑year college students, recent transfers, or graduate students may submit an unofficial current transcript plus the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school seniors may submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
  • Preference will be given to students who are from or attending secondary school in Illinois.

Timeline and contact

  • Application deadline: June 30, 2026.
  • The 2026 scholarship recipient will be selected 4–6 weeks after the deadline.
  • For scholarship questions or inquiries, please use the designated contact form on our website. We cannot respond to scholarship questions by phone, email, or other contact forms on the site.

A quick piece of advice from a teacher: tell your story clearly in the essay—describe what you did, why you did it, and what you learned. Concrete examples and reflection matter more than a long list of activities. Good luck.
