At Christ the Hope of Glory, we hold a simple belief: food gives people hope for today, and education gives people hope for tomorrow. Our Community Initiative puts that belief into practice by meeting immediate needs and opening doors to a more hopeful future for families in southern Dallas County.
Programs
Academic Scholarship Program
- Award: $1,500 to qualifying graduating seniors.
- Eligibility:
- First-generation college student (neither parent has completed a four‑year degree)
- Resident of southern Dallas County
- Enrolled in a southern Dallas County high school
- Accepted to and enrolling at Texas Woman’s University
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale)
Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway Program
- What we provide: Thanksgiving meals for qualifying households.
- Eligibility:
- Resident of southern Dallas County
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
- Household income at or below the federal poverty level
- Household includes someone age 60 or older, or a person with a disability
We are grateful to our volunteers and donors. With their help, we provided Thanksgiving meals to 1,200 people during the 2020 season. We hope their plates—and their hearts—were full.
