Description Spotlight is a free performing-arts program and competition for Southern California high school students at all experience levels. The program awards a total of $100,000 in scholarships annually and pairs entrants with feedback, coaching, and performance opportunities designed to accelerate artistic growth. Participants can also access mastery classes with world-class artists and the chance to perform in a Grand Finale. The process is application-based and requires an audition video upload. - **Program type:** Free performing-arts competition and development program for high school students. - **Prize pool:** $100,000 awarded in scholarships each year. - **Opportunities:** Written judge feedback, mastery classes, coaching, and a performance showcase. - **How it starts:** Apply online and upload an audition video to begin. Eligible applicants include students in specified Southern California counties; applicants must still be enrolled in high school as of Dec. 31, 2026 and not be full-time college students. Additional benefits include live audition coaching, performance experience, mastery classes, college- and career-preparation resources, and media/school recognition. These combined elements are intended to support artistic growth beyond the monetary awards. - **Scholarships:** Part of the collective $100,000 prize pool awarded across categories. - **Feedback:** Written critique from distinguished judges for entrants/awardees. - **Training:** Mastery classes and coaching from world-class artists. - **Performance & exposure:** Grand Finale performance opportunities and public recognition. - **Career prep:** College- and career-focused resources and guidance.
