Strong Work Ethic Scholarship

Scholarship Sponsored by BK Law Group

Value: $1,000.00
Awards Available: 1

At BK Law Group we believe a strong work ethic is foundational. Good results rarely arrive by accident—consistency, focus, and the willingness to delay gratification are what turn effort into accomplishment. Finishing well often takes time and discipline; those who are willing to stick with difficult tasks usually get the best outcomes. Hard work is not innate; it’s built through habits, persistence, and a clear purpose.

We’re pleased to announce the Strong Work Ethic Scholarship for its fifth year. We want to read about a time when you put in the effort and followed a task through to the end. The winner will receive $1,000 toward their education.

Essay prompt
Write a 750–1,000 word essay describing a specific time when you relied on your strong work ethic. Include:
- What the task or challenge was.
- How you stayed motivated and disciplined.
- The final outcome.
- How the result would have differed if you had given up sooner.
- What motivated you to give 100% (or more).

Eligibility
- Open to current high school seniors, college students, or graduate students who are legal residents of the United States (50 states or the District of Columbia) and who are enrolled in a two- to five-year post-secondary institution.
- BK Law Group employees, their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling, spouse), and people living in the same household as such employees are not eligible.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing.

Application requirements
- A 750–1,000 word essay addressing the prompt above. All essays will be screened for AI-generated content; any essay found to contain AI writing will be disqualified.
- A professional résumé listing academic and professional experience.
- An official or unofficial transcript from your current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or recent transfers may submit an unofficial current transcript plus the most recent official transcript from their prior school.
- High school seniors must also submit proof of acceptance to the college or university they plan to attend.

Selection and deadline
- Applications must be received by July 31, 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
- BK Law Group will select the scholarship recipient during the month following the application deadline.

Quick tips from a teacher
- Be specific: names, dates, actions, and concrete results make your story believable and memorable.
- Reflect: explain not just what you did, but why it mattered and what you learned.
- Be honest: genuine motivation and effort read more clearly than manufactured drama.

We look forward to reading your story about perseverance and hard work.
