Think of the Modern Mountain “Rise Up” Baking Scholarship as a nudge from someone who believes in your mixing bowl talent. It’s designed for students who intend to pursue a professional career in Baking & Pastry Arts. The application is straightforward, and the award is meant to help cover costs as you start your first year—yes, we’d love to give you a little dough to get started.
Eligibility
You’re eligible if you meet all of the following:
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Accepted to, or enrolled in, a Baking & Pastry Arts program at a U.S.-accredited postsecondary institution (college or university). You can apply while you’re still waiting to hear back from programs, but you must provide proof of acceptance or enrollment by the application deadline in order to be considered.
- Legal citizen of the United States.
How to apply — what we will ask for
Prepare these items and submit them with your application:
1. Short essays
- What does baking mean to you? (recommended 300–500 words). Describe your long-term goals and why you’re choosing a career in baking and pastry.
- What is your best baking tip or trick? (short response)
2. A current, complete transcript showing a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
3. Proof of acceptance or enrollment in a Baking & Pastry Arts program for the 2026–2027 school year.

Be specific and concrete in your essays: tell us about a particular project, lesson, or moment that shaped your goals. Proofread, stick to the recommended length for the longer essay, and make your passion clear—skills matter, but so does the story behind them.
