DAR Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Daughters of the American Revolution
If you’re planning for college and interested in fields like history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational or physical therapy, elementary or secondary education, chemistry, math, science or English, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) offers scholarships each year to support students committed to higher education.
Who the scholarships are for (general rules)
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- You must be attending, or planning to attend, an accredited college or university in the United States.
- Multi-year scholarships are usually renewable for up to four years, but renewals must be for consecutive years of enrollment.
- Selection is based on academic achievement, demonstrated commitment to the chosen field, and/or financial need; individual scholarships may have additional restrictions.
- Scholarship funds are sent directly to the recipient’s college or university; any unused portion is returned to the DAR.
- An applicant may receive only one national scholarship from the DAR Scholarship Committee.
