Army ROTC Scholarships

Scholarship Sponsored by US Army

Value: $200,000
Awards Available: 1000
Deadline : Oct 13, 2025

The Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) offers scholarships and financial aid to assist with educational expenses. These scholarships provide a pathway to graduate as an Army Officer, potentially reducing the financial burden of your education. High school students preparing for college, current college students, and active-duty enlisted Soldiers are all eligible for these scholarships.

Financial Assistance for Living Expenses and Books

  • ROTC scholarships include a monthly stipend of $420 during the academic year to help cover living and book costs. Additionally, recipients receive $1,200 annually for book expenses.
  • Applications can be submitted during high school or college.
  • Eligibility to apply for an Army ROTC scholarship at a participating school begins upon completion of your junior year of high school or as a college student.

ROTC Scholarship Obligations

Accepting an ROTC scholarship entails a future service obligation of eight years in the Army. This service may be fulfilled through active duty, the Army Reserve, or the Army National Guard, depending on the specific scholarship. Some recipients may be eligible to serve part-time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career immediately after graduation. Scholarship recipients may exit the ROTC program after their freshman year of college without any obligation.

ROTC Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for an ROTC scholarship:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be at least 17 and under 31 in the year of commissioning.
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintain an unweighted high school GPA of at least 2.50 if applying while in high school.
  • Have taken the SAT or ACT.
  • Pass the Army Fitness Test (AFT).
  • Meet the physical weight and height requirements.
  • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.

Career-Enhancing Scholarship Programs

Nursing Scholarships

Nursing students are eligible to apply for any Army ROTC scholarship. Serving as a nurse in the Army offers unique opportunities not available in the civilian sector, such as a paid three-week Nurse Summer Training Program. This program provides an introduction to the Army Medical Department and the roles and responsibilities of an Army Nurse Corps Officer.

Scholarships for Enlisted Soldiers

Enlisted Soldiers can take advantage of the Green to Gold program and scholarship opportunities. These scholarships can cover tuition or room and board costs while enlisted Soldiers pursue their undergraduate or graduate degrees.
