Before you begin the Ford Scholars application, take a moment to make sure this is the right scholarship for you. The Foundation will accept and review only one Ford Family scholarship application per student, so it’s important not to apply to multiple Ford programs. Eligibility — you must answer YES to every item - I live in Oregon or Siskiyou County, California. - I plan to attend an eligible college full-time in my home state. - My goal is to earn my first bachelor’s degree. - I am a graduating high school senior or a recent high school/GED graduate. - I have never enrolled full-time in college (college credits earned while in high school do not count). - I have completed—or will soon complete—a financial aid application (for example: FAFSA, ORSAA, CADAA) to demonstrate financial need. If you meet every one of the items above, you may begin the Ford Scholars application. What to have ready (gather these before you start) - Financial information (household income, tax forms, etc.) - Most recent transcripts - Your college plans (where you intend to enroll and your intended major) - Activities: school, community, family/unpaid work, and paid work - Personal statements (short essays) - Family information (household members, dependents, etc.) Preparing these documents ahead of time will save you time and reduce stress.
