Ohio Agricultural Council Scholarships

OAC annually offers scholarships to assist students in pursuing a career in an agricultural-related field. Scholarships are available to high school seniors preparing to enter college or any undergraduate student currently enrolled in college. Applicants or their parent or legal guardian must be a resident of Ohio.
Scholarship applications for the 2024-25 school year will be available in fall 2024. Completed applications must be returned to the Ohio Agricultural Council by February 15, 2024.
The Ohio Agricultural Council (OAC) offers scholarships to assist students in pursuing their education in agriculture-related areas of study and to help promote agriculture and agribusiness as a growing field of career opportunities.
Scholarship Program
The Ohio Agricultural Council provides up to three (3) $1,500 scholarships annually to Ohio high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree in agriculture and up to three (3) $1,500 scholarships to undergraduate college students from Ohio who are currently pursuing a degree in agriculture.
Selection Process
Scholarships are selected based on academic record, leadership qualities, community involvement and responses to application essay questions. Applicants will be reviewed and selected by a committee of individuals who are active members of the Ohio Agricultural Council. Scholarship recipients will be asked to attend at least one Ohio Agricultural Council meeting and will be provided a one-year complimentary membership in the Council.
Scholarship recipients will be notified no later than April of their award. Recipients will be recognized during the 2023 OAC Hall of Fame Awards Breakfast at the Ohio State Fair on August 4, 2023. The scholarship is to be used for the 2023-2024 school year.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available to high school seniors preparing to enter college as a full-time student or any full-time undergraduate student currently enrolled in college. Applicants or their parent/legal guardian must be a resident of the State of Ohio. The applicant must have declared, or plan to declare, a major in agriculture at any two-year or four-year college or university. All application submission requirements must be met to be considered for a scholarship. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
