What it is
The San Antonio Area Foundation’s Legacy Scholarship is a major, donor-funded program that helps talented students afford college. Founded by an anonymous donor, it has grown into one of the largest scholarship initiatives in the country. In 2025 the program awarded $4.4 million to 110 students.
Who can apply
- Current high school juniors who live in Bexar County or Webb County
- Students attending a high school located in Bexar or Webb County
- Demonstrated leadership and a strong interest in community involvement
- Intend to enroll at a Texas college or university after graduation
Award and expectations
- Scholarship amount: $10,000 per academic year, renewable for up to four years
- If selected, students will be asked to attend an information session and take part in college-success events organized by the Foundation
Important dates
- Application period: October 1, 2025 – December 15, 2025
