Oregon Sheep Growers Association Scholarship — up to $1,500
Purpose
This scholarship exists to support Oregon’s sheep industry and to help students pursuing agriculture-related studies. Awards, up to $1,500, are intended for direct educational expenses such as tuition, books, or academic fees.
Who is eligible
- You must be an Oregon resident. (You do not have to attend college or university in Oregon.)
- You must be at least a sophomore in college (sophomore level or above).
- Your major should be in an agriculture-related field, agricultural sciences, or pre‑veterinary medicine, and you should have a career interest in the sheep industry.
- Applications for the next academic year must be received by the Oregon Sheep Growers Association (OSGA) by July 15 of the current year.
How to apply (what to submit)
Send the completed cover sheet plus:
- A personal essay describing your career plans and long-term goals
- An official transcript of all college coursework completed
- Two letters of recommendation
Selection and award
- A committee selects the recipient. The award is announced and presented in the fall.
- The scholarship check will be made payable to both the recipient and the educational institution the student is attending.
