Delaware Student Ethics Scholarship

Overview This scholarship recognizes Delaware high school seniors who demonstrate strong ethics through leadership, community service, personal integrity, and academic achievement. The program is run by the BBB Education Foundation. Who should apply - Current high school students who will be seniors in the 2025–2026 school year. - Residents of the State of Delaware. - Students who plan to continue their education at an accredited college or university. Note: This is not a needs-based scholarship. Family members of BBB staff or board members are not eligible. What you’ll need to submit - Completed application (keep a copy for your records). - One or more essays (as required by the application). - Two letters of recommendation. - A copy of your most recent high school transcript (either included with your application or sent directly by your school). - The name of a BBB‑Accredited business in your local town — find it using bbb.org and list the company name on the application. This step confirms you can navigate the BBB website. Deadlines and delivery - Deadline to apply: January 14, 2026 by 3:00 PM EST. - Make sure all materials are submitted by that date and time. Selection process - Essays and applications are judged by an independent panel of business and community leaders selected by the BBB. - Judging is blind: personally identifiable information will be removed to protect your privacy and keep the review objective. - The Selection Committee will evaluate applicants on leadership, community/school contributions, personal integrity, academic record, and the written essay. - Applicants may be asked to participate in an interview. Decisions by the judges are final. If you are selected - Scholarship recipients will be honored at the annual awards ceremony. - Award funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s college or university after the student’s enrollment has been verified. Other important notes - All submitted entries become the property of the Better Business Bureau and cannot be returned. - In line with BBB privacy policy, personal information you provide will be used only for the purpose for which it was submitted.
