Nebraska's Access College Early Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Nebraska's Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education
The Access College Early (ACE) Scholarship Program is a remarkable initiative that provides financial assistance to eligible, low-income high school students. This program covers tuition and mandatory fees for students to take college courses from Nebraska colleges or universities. These courses can be taken either through dual-enrollment or early-enrollment agreements with the respective institutions. To apply for this funding, students must complete the ACE Student Application. This application is then evaluated by the Coordinating Commission for potential scholarship awards.
Eligibility for the ACE Scholarship requires students to be enrolled in a course that is taken for a grade. Please note that courses taken as audit or as CR/NC do not qualify. Additionally, the student or their family must be approved to participate in one of the federal need-based government programs listed below, have experienced an extreme hardship that affects family income, or be participating in a designated Career Education program as established by the Nebraska Department of Education.
- Free or Reduced Price Lunch Program
- Supplemental Security Income
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Special Supplemental Assistance Program (WIC)
Students must provide documentation verifying their approval to participate in the program or evidence of the hardship they have experienced. It's important to note that students without legal status in the United States, including those granted DACA status, are not eligible to apply for the ACE Scholarship due to state law.
Now, let's discuss the application and deadline dates for the ACE Scholarship:
