Chapman Scholars Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Chapman
Each year the Chapman Scholars Program at Purdue Fort Wayne selects six incoming freshmen who stand out for strong academic work and meaningful activity outside the classroom. This is a selective, holistic opportunity for students who want both intellectual challenge and a chance to serve their community.
What the scholarship provides
- Tuition and class‑fee credit covering up to 18 credit hours
- On‑campus housing
- Textbooks
- A food stipend for each eligible fall and spring semester in an aid year
What the program expects
Chapman Scholars are expected to be engaged students and citizens. In addition to taking challenging courses, scholars participate in experiential learning, leadership development, and ongoing civic engagement while living and studying at Purdue Fort Wayne.
Who should apply — eligibility at a glance
1. Current high school senior
- Must complete Core 40 diploma requirements or an equivalent college‑preparatory curriculum.
2. Academic benchmarks (meet one)
- 95 GPA, or top 10% class rank, or
- SAT score of 1380 or higher, or
- ACT score of 29 or higher
- International applicants: TOEFL 89+ or IELTS 7.5+
3. Apply to PFW on time
- Complete and submit the Purdue Fort Wayne application by January 6.
