What we want to accomplish
- Provide quality services to Hopi students by supporting a full range of educational opportunities.
- Increase the number of employable, degreed Hopi professionals.
- Maintain retention supports so students can complete their programs.

- Hopi Education Endowment Fund (HEEF)

Awards & scholarships (who they’re for)
- BIA Higher Education Grant / Hopi Education Award — Eligible Hopi students pursuing post‑secondary and professional degrees.
- Diane Humetewa Scholarship — Merit‑based, for students interested in social justice.
- Peabody Navajo Generating Station Scholarship — Merit‑based, recognizes high academic achievement.
- Hopi Academic Achievement Award — Merit award for eligible graduating high school seniors.
- Education Enrichment Award — For activities that enhance educational or career goals (apply at least 30 days before the activity).
- Tuition and Books Award — For part‑time students or those not eligible for other awards.
- Standardized Testing Fee Award — Covers fees for school entrance exams or career certification exams.

Recommendation letters (important)
Some awards require three letters of recommendation. For applicants this typically includes:
- An academic reference: college academic advisor for college students or high school academic counselor for high school applicants.
- A personal reference (must not be an immediate relative).
- A third reference (academic or professional).
Personal references may not be immediate family members, HTGSP staff, current HTGSP board members, or HEEF staff.

Who is eligible
- Must be an enrolled member of The Hopi Tribe.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be admitted to a regionally accredited college or university (for post‑secondary awards).
- Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and apply for all federal, state, and institutional aid.
- Must meet the required cumulative GPA for the award or scholarship being requested.

Documents you must submit
- Completed Hopi Tribe Grants and Scholarship Program (HTGSP) application.
- Hopi Tribe enrollment verification form.
- Official high school transcript or official GED test scores (sent from the school/institution in a sealed envelope) — one‑time submittal only.
- Official transcripts from any post‑secondary institutions you are attending or have attended (sent in sealed envelopes).
- Financial Needs Analysis (FNA) form (completed).
- Endorsed program of study / degree plan.

Application deadlines (all documents due by 5:00 pm MST on the date listed)
- Summer semester: April 15
- Fall semester: July 15
- Winter semester: October 15
- Spring semester: December 15

Final notes
- All application materials must be complete and received by 5:00 pm MST on the FINAL semester deadline for your application to be considered.
- Faxed documents are not accepted.
