Excellence in Character Scholarship

Oasis Connection Ministries (a 501(c)(3)) is pleased to announce the 2024 Excellence in Character Scholarship. We will award three $500 scholarships — one to a graduating senior from each of these Texas counties: Dallas, Tarrant, and Collin. Children of Oasis Connection Ministries board members are not eligible.
What we are looking for
- Graduating seniors who demonstrate strong character through sustained community service (outside of school-sponsored activities) and active participation in school extracurriculars.
- Academic standing of at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Financial need: total family annual income under $50,000 (per 2024 Federal Poverty Guidelines).
- Plans to attend a 2- or 4-year college or an accredited technical school.
Required documents (submit with your application)
1. Proof of community service (description, hours, supervisor contact, etc.).
2. High school transcript showing a minimum 3.0 GPA.
3. Proof of family annual income (tax return, W-2, or other documentation).
4. College/technical school admission letter (admission will be verified prior to payment).
5. Guidance counselor endorsement attesting that you are a qualified candidate for this award.
Important details about the award and payment
- Scholarship funds ($500) will be paid directly to the student in August 2024.
- Payment is contingent on verification of the student’s admission to a 2- or 4-year college or technical school.
- Applications without the required documentation will not be considered.
How to apply and deadline
- We encourage each high school to present this opportunity to strong applicants who meet the guidelines.
- Application deadline: July 19, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. The scholarship committee must have your complete application by that time. Late applications will not be accepted.
