Participation in community service takes on many forms, each as significant as the other. You may choose to donate your time to organizations that champion causes you are passionate about, or contribute resources to those aiding community members in desperate need. Regardless of the method, community engagement is not merely about personal satisfaction; it's a profound privilege that enhances the lives of all participants.

In recognition of these commendable causes and the students who contribute to their growth, we are delighted to announce the 2024 Selfless Service Scholarship! This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who submits an insightful essay detailing their involvement in supporting their community through local organizations, groups, clubs, or individual efforts. Your essay should extol the communal spirit of generosity and motivate others to actively contribute to building a stronger, more resilient community. Additionally, applicants are required to submit school transcripts and a professional resume. The student who demonstrates exceptional commitment and impact will be selected as the recipient of this scholarship, aiding them in advancing their education.

The application deadline for the 2024 Selfless Service Scholarship is October 31, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

• The scholarship is open to any legal resident of the United States residing in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. The applicant must be a current high school senior, vocational student, college student, or graduate student who is enrolled in a vocational program or a two to four-year post-secondary institution for the Spring 2025 Semester.
• Employees of the Dan Doyle Law Group, their immediate families (parent, child, sibling, and spouse), and any persons residing in the same households of such individuals (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate.
• Applicants for this scholarship should maintain good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Application Requirements

• Applicants must submit a 750-1000 word essay in response to the prompt: Write an essay that delves into the collective efforts within your community to support and uplift one another. Explore the various ways in which individuals come together to volunteer, collaborate with organizations, and provide aid to those in need. Highlight the transformative power of community engagement and the ripple effect it creates in fostering a culture of compassion and solidarity.
• Please note that all essays will be checked for AI writing. If AI writing is detected in the essay, the application will be disqualified.
• Applicants must submit a professional resume that lists their experience, both professional and academic.
• Applicants must submit a transcript from their current school. First-year college students, graduate students, or individuals who have recently transferred schools may submit an unofficial transcript from their current school, as well as the most recent official transcript from their prior school. High school students must also submit proof of acceptance to their college or university.
• Preference will be given to students either from or attending secondary school in the state.
