CAPED Scholarships

Scholarship Sponsored by California Association For Postsecondary Education and Disability

Value: $1,500
Awards Available: 11
Deadline : Aug 31, 2025

Since 1982, the California Association for Post-Secondary Education and Disability (CAPED) has been committed to supporting students with disabilities in their pursuit of post-secondary education. They have done this through the provision of scholarships. The application period for these scholarships runs from May 1st to August 31st and can be accessed online.

Now, let's delve into the general eligibility requirements for these scholarships. Please note that these are broad guidelines and each scholarship may have additional specific requirements, which can be found under the 'Eligibility Alerts' section in each Scholarship Description.

1. Enrollment: You must be a currently enrolled student at a California college or university and be participating in your school’s disability support program or office. Please note that a Disability Certification Form is required for the application. Unfortunately, no other forms of disability verification can be accepted.

2. GPA: Undergraduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, while graduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. However, be aware that some scholarships may require a higher cumulative GPA. Please check the 'Eligibility Alerts' on the Scholarship Descriptions page for any restrictions.

3. Completed Units: Undergraduate students must have completed at least 6 semester units or 8 quarter units. Graduate students, on the other hand, must have completed at least 3 semester units or 4 quarter units. Unofficial transcripts are required for the application to verify both your cumulative GPA and completed units.

4. Future Enrollment: You must be planning to enroll in classes at a California college or university for the upcoming fall term. Proof of this enrollment will be required upon acceptance of the award.

5. Previous Awards: If you have received a CAPED scholarship award in the previous two years, you are unfortunately not eligible to apply.

Remember, these are just the general eligibility requirements. Always check the specific requirements for each scholarship under the 'Eligibility Alerts' section in the Scholarship Description.
